In many cases, the bank and more commonly, Trust Companies will have a Certified Executor Advisor on staff.  However, if they do not, you should ask what experience the person who assists with estate matters has, as these staff members may not have all the information you need.  It is not uncommon for the bank to insist on probate, when it may not be necessary.  The staff looking after estates may be untrained in many aspects of administering an estate or may be a new staff inexperienced in this area.  An independent Certified Estate Advisor not employed  by the bank is not acting for the interests of the bank so will offer you advice independent of the interests of the bank and may be a better advisor.
