Yes, the lawyer who does probate usually has experience and knowledge they can use to advise you on most areas of estate administration.  Many will already be a Certified Executor Advisor.  However, more recently the rules governing lawyers have been changed to preclude your lawyer charging the same level of legal fees to carry out executor duties as they charge for legal advice.  Advisor fees are generally lower than legal fees and this may reduce the willingness of your lawyer to be your advisor when they have legal work they can do for others, for which they can charge higher fees.  However, if they are a Certified Executor Advisor this may not be the case. If they purport to advise you, be sure to question if they are charging the same level of fees as for legal advice, as this may be more costly than hiring a Certified Executor Advisor.
